Are you looking for a clean snack, packed with protein, and full of flavor? Try one of these chickpea snack recipes, or go for the whole trio and share!

Chickpea snacks are so simple to make and they’re a great snack for anytime. They’re also loaded with fiber and protein, which is my favorite combination for snacking.

The protein and fiber in these chick pea snacks will keep you full and satisfied! They work together to slow digestion, but the effect goes beyond just gut motility, the fiber + protein combination may actually increase appetite-reducing hormones in your body. Pretty cool, right?

This filling effect may even help to lower your total caloric intake throughout the day, making them a smart snack choice if you’re trying to lose weight.

Crispy Chickpea Snack Trio: Pizza, Taco and Cinnamon Flavored

Chickpeas are a high quality source of plant-based protein (as are most beans and legumes) and are an important part of your diet, especially if you’re trying to lose weight. In this review of 21 studies, participants who ate at least one serving of beans or legumes per day lost 25% more weight than those who didn’t eat beans!

Chickpeas also have a low glycemic index (GI), which is a marker of how fast your blood sugar rises after eating a specific food. So even though beans are carbs, they’ve actually been shown to help regulate your blood sugar and decrease fasting insulin levels – both of which are important in preventing and managing Diabetes. Chickpeas are also nutrient rich, containing magnesium, B vitamins and zinc!
