If you work with me privately or in any of my group programs, you know that I believe using “feeling good” as a decision-making guide is one of the most powerful tools in your healthy mindset toolbox.

So when the team at Pure Encapsulations invited me to attend Mark Hyman’s Feel Good Summit in Los Angeles, I was like there’s a conference out there devoted entirely to feeling good? I’m totally in!

And so began my adventure…

Before I get started, I want to thank Pure Encapsulations for sponsoring my travel and accommodations. The event was held at the Terranea Resort in Los Angeles and it was absolutely beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed my daily walks along the Pacific Ocean. The weather was perfection and the coastline is gorgeous.

This was the view from my room…pretty amazing, right?

The intention behind Mark Hyman’s Feel Good Summit was to bring together practitioners and thought leaders in integrative wellness not just to educate, but for exploration and community making…in real time. It’s one thing to chat in a Facebook group or watch YouTube videos, but it’s a whole other thing when you can get face-to-face with like-minded people and enjoy a meal, have a meaningful conversation, or share an insight.

Dr. Hyman designed the Summit around the philosophy that feeling good and having optimal health allows for a deeper enjoyment of life. He created the Feel Good Wheel as a starting point to guide you in designing a wellness plan made by you, with your unique life in mind.

The Feel Good wheel encourages you to look at all the aspects of your life that matter when creating a balanced, well-lived life. True health is more than just what we eat, it’s also derived from a sense of community, a holistic mindset, and having a purpose for waking up each day.

Are you living your passion?

Are you connecting to your truth in a way that keeps you grounded?

Are you engaging in daily practices that nurture you from the inside out?

These are the questions we were encouraged to ask ourselves throughout the summit and this is the type of inner work that connects the dots between how you want to live your life and how you’re actually living it.

Unlike most other conferences I attend, where you’re exhausted and drained at the end of each day, there was a lot of down time to sit and reflect on what you learned or insights you had.

And yes, some of that occurred at the spa pool 🙂

The summit agenda was loaded with amazing speakers, including Michael Bernard Beckwith, Dave Asprey, Geneen Roth, and Marie Forleo. But my favorite speaker was clinical psychologist and author, Dr. Shefali Tsabary. As a mom, her message speaks to me in such a deep and powerful way, but also as a human being who is seeking to live a conscious and present life. She gave a keynote that was nothing less than transformative, and her small group session was the perfect blend of tough love and compassion. I just love her work!

Another favorite speaker was Naturopath Judy Hinjosa. Dr. Hinjosa spoke about energy healing in her small group session and how disease has an underlying connection to an energy imbalance in the body. We learned how to use the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, to calm an anxious mind, and she led us in a meditation to help tune into our energy field as a way to bring our body back into alignment. This resonated with me deeply as I believe strongly in the vibrational energy of our food and emotions. The types of food we eat and the thoughts we create literally have the power to heal our body.

Pure Encapsulations was one of the sponsors for the event and always had a crowd around their booth. Probably because they were giving away PureLean®  packets and magnesium shots!

What I love about Pure is that their products are super convenient and fit my lifestyle. I travel with my all-in-one Energize Plus Pure Packs and Magnesium Easysticks. The magnesium works well to help me get to sleep when I’m traveling to different time zones!

As with most conferences, it’s not only about the educational sessions. From food samples like smoothies and Bulletproof coffee every morning to a little afternoon sauna time, there was something for everyone.

Lunch and dinner meals were included and we enjoyed some pretty tasty food. Most of the meals consisted of salmon or grass-fed steak, tons of veggies, and usually something with a sweet potato. The food was very spa-like (and delicious!).

Okay my friends, I hope I inspired you to think about what feels good in your life. And if you come up a little short on good feels, maybe it’s time to dig deeper.  Start on your plate…do the foods you eat feel good in your body? What thoughts or actions can you choose TODAY to start feeling good?

Food Confidence begins with
          confidence.

You may think you understand what “health” looks like right now — but have you ever considered what health looks like to you? …and not just everyone else in your life, on tv, in magazines, and in the media that you’ve been comparing yourself to? It's time to find out.
