Every January, instead of creating resolutions, I decide on three words. These three words become a theme for my efforts in the year to come. Every January, instead of creating resolutions, I decide on three words. These three words become a theme for my efforts in the year to come.

I use the words to guide my personal life and my business; say yes to projects, make decisions, and plan my time around my words. I keep the words on my computer or near my desk and they prompt me to make a focused choice.

For me, the best part of the process is looking back and analyzing how my words helped to shape the past year. Did they influence my decisions? Did I use them to guide my choices? What were the results of me doing so?

Before I reveal my three words for 2018, let’s take a look at my 3 words from 2017 and recap how I did.

My three words for 2017 were Surrender ♦ Replenish ♦ Abundance

My three words from last year were definitely a theme for me in 2017.  I noticed when I was giving in to worry and anxst and chose instead to surrender to the idea that I’m exactly where I need to be for me. I spent A LOT less time comparing myself to others and more time doing my own inner work.  I made some BIG decisions in my business. I hired an assistant (whom I adore) and gave my website a makeover. I said no to projects that I wasn’t passionate about, and focused solely on ease and flow.  I definitely could have spent some more time replenishing myself and practicing self care. This is an ongoing work in progress for me, but I’m getting there.  Abundance I totally rocked! I’m super clear that I have an amazing life and have an abundance of whatever it is I’m focusing on…the good, the bad, and everything in between.

So what’s in store for the coming year?

My three words for 2018 are Mirror ♦ Good ♦ Create

MIRROR I teach what I need to learn. Mirror will remind me that what I see showing up in my world is what I need to see in myself. I want to pay more attention to what my environment is trying to teach me. Mirror will remind me that everything in my life is a reflection of the thoughts I’m thinking at any given time.

GOOD  Good is such a good word! Good will remind that NOTHING is more important than feeling good every day. Choosing to feel good above all else is a priority in 2018.

CREATE  I create my reality, my outlook and my experiences. Create will remind me that I alone am the creator of what I have in my life and what shows up for me. I am free to create the exact life and business I want.

As always, wish me luck!
