I love a good kitchen gadget, don’t you? Especially one that makes an annoying task not so annoying (like onion goggles or a mini chopper). Most of my kitchen annoyances are around cutting, slicing, and chopping. I’m always looking for an easy way out.
This weekend I was confronted with this problem. Note the size of this monster melon next to the avocado.
Ever had to cut a HUGE watermelon? It’s pretty annoying. I usually struggle with it…my knife gets stuff mid-way down and then almost disappears inside the melon. Does that ever happen to you? It happens to me also with spaghetti squash. Anyway, because of this, I’m forced to buy melon either pre-sliced or I get those baby melons.
Well, not this summer! I’m all over those big melons with this awesome slicer from Dexas. Note how swiftly and easily it worked it’s magic on my monster melon!
I got the husband to slice it for me so I could snap the pics.
Voila! Perfectly sliced!
Another favorite kitchen item is this awesome salad bowl and klip kup. Perfect bowl for outdoor salads but can also be used for chip and dip!
How cute is this Klip Kup? It can clip on to anything to make an instant dip bowl.

My most annoying kitchen task is cleaning the cook top of splatters after cooking and cleaning/sterilizing the cutting board.
GREAT tool Danielle. I love watermelon so much. I usually sort of “saw” it open. Thanks for the tip.
The Klip Kups are so awesome. How do you find this fabulous stuff?
My most annoying kitchen task is the way food flies around and drops on the floor when I am cooking up a storm. I am not sure there is anything I can do about that. After all, i am Italian and very expressive, LOL!
Thanks for always keeping it fun AND healthy!
Margo
So funny, Margo! My husband also hates the food splatter on the floor and is always commenting on the trail of greens he finds when I’m cooking!
You know, my most annoying kitchen task is cleaning, too. I love cooking, but hate the clean up!
I often cook a few meals at once and end up having a huge mess everywhere. (And it’s worse when there is flour involved… we get a dusting everywhere.)
Thankfully, my dog helps with some of the cleanup on the floor… (her favorite snack is veggies, so it works well!)
Danielle, my most annoying kitchen task is cleaning after I did all the work.
Hate any food splatter.
Peeling butternut squash is right up there with washing gritty lettuce leaves or other greens.
I hate juicing things! I need a good tool for juicing citrus fruits because right now I either hand squeeze, or if I have a few to do I push the cut side into a colander really hard and makes a LOT of pulp.

for sure, it’s cleaning up… but even somehow that is sheer therapy after having to chop onions!
Cleaning spots on the kitchen floor. They always evade me until its too late and become super difficult to get off!

Followed on pinterest and repin an amazing salmon entree.
I despise emptying the dishwasher!

So fun! Love your contest, what a great idea.
Danielle, you bring a fresh idea each time I read your blog. I JUST cut a darn watermelon on the weekend and could have used that knife. Thanks!
My most annoying task is definitely chopping onions — I can’t seem to do it without crying!
My most annoying kitchen task is cleaning up the sink after cooking and eating. I’m very particular, so it’s a time-consuming task because I’m trying to get every last piece of food and stain out of the sink before I’ll consider it finished.
Can stand straining small things like rice that fall through the small holes and get stuck! I have several strainers and can’t seem to get one small enough!
I have to jump on the bandwagon and say that giving the kitchen a really good scrub-down can be really annoying – I have roommates who are definitely not as “neat-oriented” as I am, making the cleaning a formidable task.

Reading thru the comments I have to say “ditto!” on the kitchen cleanup. Love to cook (and eat! hahaha), hate the clean up. I’ve had to wrangle some jumbo watermelons in the past (kinda dangerous really) – I LOVE the knife!! xo
My biggest complaint is cleaning up leftovers left in the refrigerator. This is a chore I am never enthusiastic about… I guess with good reason. If there is an odor or even the slightest discoloration, yuck!
I did all but the post; will try to add that later today
xoxoxo

I definitely hate cutting up onions as my eyes always water and cleaning food splatters from the stove when frying. Grease goes everywhere and I have to wipe the entire stove down.

Since I started making applesauce for my son, my new most annoying task is peeling and coring apples. It takes far too long! Second on my list is cleaning.
I despise chopping up raw chicken for stir fry’s! It’s so slimy and I just don’t have the best knives for it. Blech!!
“liked” ya on FB!
Sounds crazy, but I don’t know how to link up Pinterest Pins, BUT I did repin your Avocado Fries! and I’m following all your awesome boards!!
The most cumbersome task I have in the kitchen (other that actually washing dishes) is cleaning each leaf of romaine for a good ceasar. My family loves ceasar salads and we go through romaine like crazy, but having to wash each leaf free of dirt and then letting each dry is just so time consuming.
Pitting cheerios, peeling potatoes and apples
